What You Need to Know About Internet Service Providers In this day and age, the internet is already recognized as a necessity of the human population, and that is basically due to the fact that it can give them lots of good advantages and benefits. The term internet is defined as the global system of computer networks that are interconnected, and it is produced with the use of the internet protocol suite or TCP/IP which can link or connect any kinds of mobile devices, like personal computer, tablet computer, mobile phones or smart phones, and laptops all over the world. Internet is also described as the network of networks that may consists of government, business, public, academic and private networks of local to global range, and it can be connected or linked with the broad or wide array of technologies, like optical networking, electronic and wireless. And because of the coming of the internet, it provides it users with new services, such as internet forums, online music, video streaming websites, electronic mail or email, internet television, digital newspapers, online shopping, internet telephony, e-books, blogging, social networking, and instant messaging. The ISP, which is an abbreviated term for internet service provider, is described as the company or the organization that can give their clients or customers with internet services. The ISPs or the internet service providers may be arranged or organized in different ways, such as community-owned, commercial, privately-owned and non-profit. The internet service providers or ISPs are typically providing their customers or clients with different kinds of internet services, and some of the most common ones include internet transit, domain name registration, Usenet service, web hosting, colocation, and internet access. The internet service provider is classified in different ways, namely the access providers ISP, the mailbox providers, the hosting internet service providers, the transit internet service providers, the virtual internet service providers or VISP, the free internet service providers, and the wireless internet service provider or WISP. There are two classes of access providers ISP, namely the OSPs or online service providers, which can also be called simply as online services; and the ISPs or internet access providers, which is defined for local businesses and national or international companies. Most of the internet service providers offered by the ISPs to their clients or customers who are classified as small business and end users includes cable modem or ISDN, fiber optics, DSL or digital subscriber line and ADSL, and copper wires to provide dial-up; while for their customers who are classified as medium-to-large businesses, includes gigabit or metropolitan Ethernet, frame relay, higher-speed DSL, ATM or asynchronous transfer mode, SONET or synchronous optical networking, ISDN primary rate interface and Ethernet.
